Write On - An Occupational Therapy Printing Group

For children 6-8 years old who are experiencing difficulties completing written work at home and school due to: poor pencil grasp, incorrect letter formation, decreased speed, poor spacing within and between words, and decreased use of lines.

  • Consists of 6, 1hour and 15 minute weekly sessions.
  • All groups are run by a registered occupational therapist.
  • There is a maximum of 5 children per group.
  • Saturdays 8:30 to 9:45am  Mar. 30, Apr. 6, 13, 27, May 4, 11, 2019
  • Wednesdays 5:15 to 6:30pm   Apr. 3, 10, 17, 24, May 1, 8, 2019


Write On 2 - An Occupational Therapy Writing Skills Group

For children 7-9 years old who are experiencing difficulties with writing skills due to: poor generation of ideas and sentences, difficulties with organization of written work, and decreased speed.

  • Children must be able to write and read short words.
  • Consists of 6, 1hour and 15 minute weekly sessions.
  • All groups are run by a registered occupational therapist.
  • There is a maximum of 5 children per group.
  • Mondays 4:30 to 5:45pm   May 6, 13, 27, Jun. 3, 10, 17, 2019

Music Therapy Group

A specialized music experience tailored to the needs of your child in a supportive environment.

  • Focuses on socialization, turn-taking, creative expression, and having fun in a group environment
  • Consists of 10, 45min. sessions
  • All groups are run by an accredited music therapist
  • There is a maximum of 6 children per group.
  • Saturdays 11:15am, 12:15pm or 1:15pm   Apr. 6, 13, 27, May 4, 11, 18, 25, Jun. 1, 8, 15, 2019

If your child is not quite group ready, we also offer a 10 session block of 30min. individual sessions to work on your child's goals.

Kids Yoga Classes

Non-competitive, fully integrated yoga classes for children 7-12 years old to :

  • Improve strength, flexibility and balance
  • Increase sensory awareness and body awareness
  • Improve focus and concentration
  • Teach relaxation and reduce stress/anxiety
  • Teach cooperation and teamwork
  • Have fun!
  • Consists of 10, 1 hour classes. All classes run by a Certified Kids Yoga Instructor
  • There is a maximum of 6 children per class
  • Tuesdays 6:30 to 7:30pm   Apr. 9. 16, 23, 30, May 7, 14, 21, 28, 2019


Camps

Printing Camp

Based on our popular and successful Write On - An Occupational Therapy Printing Group, this camp is for children 6-8 years old who are experiencing difficulties completing written work at home and school due to:

  • Poor pencil grasp
  • Incorrect letter formation
  • Decreased speed 
  • Poor spacing within and between words
  • Decreased use of lines

Camp runs Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 11:30am. Maximum 6 campers/session. All sessions run by a registered occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant.   

Just Added:  A printing camp will run August 19-23, 2019.

     

Sensory Motor Camp

Is your child fidgety, active, and always on the go? He/she may be seeking more sensory input. This camp provides children with increased opportunities for more sensory input through specific games and activities.  Children will have the opportunity to: 

  • Engage in heavy work activities that provide resistance to muscles and joints
  • Receive deep pressure sensory input 
  • Engage in tactile sensory activities 
  • Participate with peers in offering and receiving sensory activities
  • Learn to recognize which sensory activities they prefer

Camp runs Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 11:30am.  Maximum 6 campers/session. All sessions run by a registered occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant. 

 Due to unforeseen circumstances, there will not be any summer camp programs offered in 2019.  Camps will resume in the summer of 2020.     

Music Camp

Does your child respond well to music? Benefit from varied social experiences and movement? Music therapy can be an effective way to address various therapeutic goals while having fun!  Children will have the opportunity to:

  •  Socialize through music
  • Explore through dance and movement 
  • Work on fine/gross motor skills through instrumental playing
  • Engage in cooperative musical and movement games  

Camp runs Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 11:30am. Maximum 6 campers per session. All sessions run by an accredited music therapist.
